The client required an entirely new ecommerce platform to launch their sustainable business model across German-speaking regions. Their venture evolved from selling refurbished appliance parts into a streamlined marketplace for refurbished large household appliances, operating like an online hub where third-party suppliers can list items. The primary obstacle was establishing immediate digital trust. The platform needed to clearly communicate a rigorous quality assurance process and display accurate environmental benefits without slowing down the fast product upload times required to maintain operational profitability.
The Solution
We developed a multi-vendor WooCommerce website designed to grow into a high-volume marketplace. The custom site features a unique reusable product model page structure, allowing individual product listings to be housed under master models to accelerate upload times. Operating as an innovative online marketplace rather than a traditional retailer, the business allows approved third-party suppliers to list refurbished white goods like washing machines and tumble dryers. They needed an enterprise grade digital foundation capable of scaling from an initial catalog to handling hundreds of thousands of transactions each month.
