The Challenge

The client required a complete redesign of their outdated e learning platform to improve the digital experience for hundreds of learners studying for safety qualifications. The existing site was dated, difficult for the internal team to update, and featured a complex navigation structure that required too many clicks to access vital course materials. The site needed to streamline the user journey while maintaining a massive volume of resources. It also had to address specific functional gaps, such as the lack of visual progress tracking and a manual, time-consuming process for handling student quizzes and course reminders.

The Solution

We developed a bespoke WordPress website utilising the LearnPress plugin to create a much more intuitive and engaging learning management system. The new architecture simplifies the student journey by providing a single course page with clear element sections and a sticky header for rapid navigation. Key features include a manual progress toggle for students to track their own tasks, an automated email system for course deadlines, and a custom online quiz builder for element reviews. To ensure a seamless transition, we migrated all existing users and content into a refined UI that incorporates the brand’s signature shapes and colours into a modern, responsive design.

The client now possesses a professional elearning portal that significantly enhances the study experience for their diverse range of learners. The streamlined navigation reduces clicks and improves accessibility, allowing students to study any element in any order while clearly monitoring their own progress. The new system has also made updating course materials far simpler, saving valuable time and reducing overhead. Cambridge Safety is a specialist provider of health and safety training, delivering essential qualifications and diplomas to hundreds of professional learners every year. Having built a strong reputation through their main shop window site, they required a complete redesign of their separate e-learning portal to better support students during their studies. The goal was to replace a dated, cumbersome system with a modern platform that would make learning easier, improve administrative efficiency, and provide a professional digital environment that matched the high calibre of their physical training courses.

When the Cambridge Safety team needed Peterborough website design services, their primary focus was on improving the user interface and simplifying the process for adding or updating their extensive course materials. They needed a system that could handle over 750 pages of content while offering students better tools, such as visual progress tracking and the ability to submit end-of-element quizzes directly through the site. Communication was also a priority as the client wanted a solution that automated course reminders and password resets to reduce manual admin, alongside a redesigned My Account area that clearly displayed partially completed courses to the user.

We designed a WordPress e-learning platform that introduces a clean, simple aesthetic supported by the powerful LearnPress plugin for course management. The solution includes custom-built progress tickboxes for student dashboards, an OTP login for enhanced security, and a redesigned sitemap that allows users to jump straight into their qualifications. By migrating all existing users and restructuring the content library into a more logical format, we have provided the client with a scalable, user-friendly tool. This new portal not only improves the student journey but also allows the client to manage their educational resources with total confidence.
