What Cakehead Wanted
Before COVID, Cakehead was predominantly baking cakes for businesses. But when cafes around the UK closed their doors during the pandemic, the public still wanted to tuck into their coffee-shop favourites – from the comfort of their homes. It was a way to spread a little joy. Looking to expand their B2C reach, they came to Echo seeking our expertise on boosting brand awareness. They wanted us to craft a strategy to help their new Cakeout boxes sell like hot cakes.
The Challenge We Faced
The ultimate challenge was generating consistent sales after COVID. The pandemic was a boom for them. Naturally, when people couldn’t leave their homes to buy cake, being able to indulge in tempting tray bake deliveries was a novelty. This was an exciting start for the new branch of their business, but they needed to keep getting new customers once the cafes reopened.
They also wanted to rank well for competitive terms like “Cake box delivery”. In other words, we were competing with popular listings and ads on Etsy.
