Email marketing providers

You know you want to set-up an email marketing campaign, but where do you start? That’s a great question, because there’s a bewildering array of platforms out there to choose from. Email marketing providers certainly aren’t in short supply, but which ones are worth your time? In no particular order, here are three stand-out options that are trusted by thousands of businesses every day.

Mailchimp

First launched back in 2001, Mailchimp has since established itself as a go-to for small businesses (here in the UK, at least). Why is that? Partly because of its attractive pricing model; a free tier is available, allowing up to 10,000 emails to be sent a month to as many as 2,000 contacts – ideal for new and growing companies.

If you need more, three paid packages are offered, each with additional features. The email designer is packed with options, though can sometimes be a little fiddly to use. Nevertheless, with a little practice Mailchimp can do great things for your business, and its built-in reporting functionality makes it easy to understand the effectiveness of your campaigns.

HubSpot

An alternative free email marketing platform is HubSpot. On the design front, a collection of ready-made templates make it easy to get up and running – and its in-depth analytics section stacks up well against Mailchimp’s. The major advantage this platform has over its competitors is automation, which can help grow your business with minimal input on your part.

As with Mailchimp, HubSpot starts out free, but paid plans are available for those operating larger organisations.

Constant Contact

One of the fastest growing email marketing providers out there, Constant Contact’s claim to fame is its simple, intuitive user interface. Perfect for beginners, the service has a 60-day free trial period, allowing you to sample all of its features and decide whether or not it’s for your business. A range of plans are available from that point onward.

All you have to do to create great-looking emails is drag and drop elements onto the page. And if you want to hit the ground running, you can pick from one of the countless pre-made templates available on the site.

That’s not all, folks

The above three platforms are among the most popular, but there are plenty more options out there to choose from. If you’re not convinced by the options mentioned here, don’t worry – there’ll be a platform out there for you!
