Echo are running the Perkins Great Eastern Run for Inspire Peterborough

As part of our continued effort to give back to our local community, we are pleased to announce that three members of Team Echo will be taking part in the Perkins Great Eastern Run 2017 and will be raising money for Inspire Peterborough.

Inspire Peterborough is a project of Disability Peterborough, a local registered disability charity. They promote sport and leisure activities, as well as promoting health and well-being initiatives and support for disabled people and their family members and carers.

Inspire Peterborough, inclusive sports and activities

With an extensive list of clubs & organisations associated, Inspire Peterborough promotes inclusive sport and leisure activities in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. As well as teaming up with a vast array of organisations to deliver life changing opportunities, Inspire Athletes are sports people that the charity supports. These ambassadors of the organisation, with varying skill levels right up to Team GB Paralympians, have one major thing in common, their passion, drive & positive attitude in spreading the power of sport & community to include all. This is the mantra of Inspire Peterborough.

Why we are raising money for Inspire…

It only takes a quick look at Inspire’s Facebook page to realise the impact they have through local projects. A heart warming example is a recently opened fitness suite at The Mobility Aids Centre, Stanground. Teaming up with the Armed Forces Partnership Board means this suite will deliver exercise, fitness and well-being sessions to ex-forces personnel with disabilities. This is just one example of the many projects Inspire Peterborough work on. Other great projects include Amputee Football, Special Olympics, the extremely popular Walks on Wednesdays & their very own inspiring Radio Show.

We believe this truly great cause, which already gives so much back to our local community, deserves our support.

Zak Wattiez, Dustin Braband and Luke Thomas are all currently preparing themselves for the 13.1 mile route around Peterborough, starting and finishing on the Embankment.

Their sponsorship page is open now. Simply visit https://www.givey.com/team_echo to donate as much or as little as you can.

Every contribution is appreciated by the entire Echo team and Inspire Peterborough. You can follow the progress of the guys as they train for the event, coverage of the race on the day and other fundraising activities on the Echo Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.
